And now for something completely different.....

Google chrome has decided it doesn't like blogger, but that's ok cause good ole Microsoft still does.  When not putzing around in SL, you'll find me killing lots and lots of stuff in Everquest 2.  When not killing lots and lots of stuff in Everquest 2, I'm decorating my EQ2 house!  Dig it.

Other games can be a great source of inspiration when creating things in Second Life.  I think my next project is to try to recreate this home in SL just to see if I can.

Rustic livin' II

Kitchen Island seating and centerpiece: JJ Lanes

Kitchen came with the house.  The stove is scripted with meals on the stove or oven, with animations.  The refridgerator gives out food and drink.  Great deal.

Food on counters: itutu, alchemy immortalis, and cozy.
Plant: noctis

Painted rooster sideboard I picked up in the Stonewood furniture store.  Lots of country/rustic furnishings, one very cute fishing inspired set.
Sectional is by Zen Creations.  I stuck 2 of them together.  The pillows are texture change, and the sectional is scripted with lots of animations.  This is the PG version :)  Side table is by North West and I bought it at Home Expo, the lamp is by itutu.

The hummingbird centerpiece I also bought at the furniture store at Stonewood.  I loved it.  I couldn't resist.  I'm not sorry.
The upstairs loft I made into a work area.  Art above fireplace on the left is not for sale, on the right is by elefantu.

pallet bed: mudhoney (retextured)

Chalet livin'

This is the Stonewood Chalet #2 by Stonewood Homes.  I had looked through one of their houses at the Home Expo and tp'd to their main location to check them out.  I fell in love with this house, it's very roomy yet still manages to have a cozy feel to it.  High ceilings and lots of windows to enjoy the views without getting your camera stuck.  The Chalet #2 has a loft with an additional bedroom/bathroom on the right side.  The smaller chalet has only the loft while the largest chalet has a bedroom/bathroom on each side of the house.  The home also features a roomy covered front porch and a large back porch with fireplace.  There is sculpted wrought iron throughout the entire structure and a built in scripted kitchen comes with the home.

The back porch is a separate structure so if you are limited on plot size you can easily delete it after you rez it.  The fireplace is not removable as it is also the fireplace for the main room inside.  On the back porch I placed 2 chairs from the Belle Belle to enjoy the night air and warm fire.  Tomorrow the inside!

Coastal living

The Poetica Coastal Gite is a large house, 25x50 meters.  Both skybox and house only versions are included.  It's got 3 bedrooms and a large finished 2 room attic.  With everything is almost 400 prims.  In fact, I ran out of prims and didn't decorate the second floor.  However, the house is gorgeous, beautifully textured.  The rooms are large with high ceilings and lots of windows.  The house also comes with a kitchen.

The back has 2 sets of french doors and a large patio with pergola included.  On the back deck I put the Home Expo RFL Breakfast set by the Loft, plants by nocc and artic greenhouse.

I did not use the kitchen that came with the house.  This kitchen and central island is by JJ Lanes.  The island rezzes all sorts of meals and entertaining snacks with animations in the stools.  Sort of pricey but worth it.  The kitchen is also animated with PG and Adult *ahem* versions.

The other side of the kitchen I made into a breakfast room. Most everything is from LISP, so I"ll just list below what is NOT from LISP

French doors lead from the kitchen area to the front of the house with a side area by the front door I made into a dining room, and the large front room I had made into a movie room/library.

House of Avro

Today I explored the House and Garden section of the Destination Guide and came upon House of Avro.
I was delighted at this place that advertises itself as having gothic furnishings, because I was not instantly assaulted with black and red furniture and blood fountains.

The majority of the furniture is to scale, although there is some overly huge furnishing that are intended for castles.  The textures are rich and inviting and nicely worn.
I have a library fetish, so was immediately drawn to the bookshelves, library ladders, etc.  They have a few variations with different woods.

A couple of the musical instruments also available.
Nicely done victorian bathroom fixtures.

They also sell a very lovely gothic library skybox which includes all furnishings for 999L.

Where Creators Live: Miko Omegamu of *ICING*

High above *ICING*, on the Mischief sim, there is a magical place.  A place full of farm animals and flowers.  In this place, lives and works Miko Omegamu.  I've known Miko for years and years and she is one of my favorite people here. She is first in my series of showcasing, for the curious, the place your favorite content creator calls home.

Me:  Miko, why do you have a house in SL?

Miko Omegamu: Because I'm like a Sim character, and need to be surrounded by pleasant things or I get depressed.  Truth be told I'm not really in it much.  I tend to just work in the field, better camera behavior.

House exterior.  Green house is from La'Liscious

There's a freakin giraffe in the garden! Also lots and lots of critters.  Chickens and coop from fatale.

Ducks from Tomato Park.

Miko's studio where she hides all her super secret projects, by .doremi

House interior.  Most furnishings came with the greenhouse, sewing stuff by MMG's and fatale.

Sometimes you interview the vampire, sometimes the vampire interviews YOU.  I hope you've enjoyed a small glimpse into Miko's world.  I'd like to thank her again for tolerating me busting down her door and showing everyone her stuff.
